Josh Byrne is coming to Townsville to share his first-hand experience and lessons learnt implementing his 10-star energy efficient residential project “Josh’s House” as constructed in the suburb of Hilton, in Perth (http://joshshouse.com.au/), Western Australia.
If you are interested in practising sustainability or building or renovating your home – then come along and work with us in a collaboration workshop where we will seek to collectively learn and share how we can all save energy in our homes.
Josh is an environmental scientist and perhaps better known for his years of work with ABC TV’s Gardening Australia.
The “Josh’s House” demonstrated reduced energy use to 10% of the average Australia home, resulting in an estimated 90% saving in annual energy use. Such a remarkable result is attributed to close collaboration between businesses, builders, suppliers, governments, researchers, organisations and community groups/individuals that have worked together.
You will be able to hear from Josh first hand and interact with him as he offers practical tips and his experiences on how to make your own house or home an energy efficient, affordable and comfortable one to live in.
