How do we make the most of our City Centre Masterplan?

12pm-1:30pm, Friday 12 July 2013, Cairns

As cities increasing compete in a global market for share of reputation and respect for the quality of life they offer, design is emerging as a critical distinguisher. We can design the city we want and make a plan for its implementation, but how to use design and design process to tap our latent talent and engage our city makers in the realisation of the city of our dreams?

Peter Edwards, President of the Urban Design Alliance Queensland will speak of his recent 'hands on' experience of the Brisbane City Centre Master Plan and the ways it has creatively engaged the professions and industry to help realise its aspirations for a 'New World City'.

Join us for a 2 course meal and presentation by Peter Edwards – an Architect, accomplished and recognised Urbanist and a leading figure in this region’s Urban Design community.

A former Principal of Australia’s largest multidisciplinary practice HASSELL, Peter has over 20 yrs experience in the architectural profession and over 15 yrs experience in urban design.
