Watt the Future Holds – Funding Opportunities to Help Businesses Save Power
On behalf of the Kill-a-Watt campaign, I would like to invite you to attend a special information session, “Watt the Future Holds – Funding Opportunities to Help Businesses Save Power”.
This FREE session, to be held on 20 April at the Shangri-La Hotel in Cairns and will review the Kill-a-Watt campaign’s achievements, explore new energy-efficiency funding opportunities for businesses and also announce the winner of the Local Government Challenge (the local government region which has identified the most potential power savings during the Kill-a-Watt campaign).
The campaign concludes on a high note this month – having identified a combined total of around $1.65 million in potential power savings for more than 200 businesses and community organisations throughout the Far North.
But where to from here – both for those businesses already alerted to energy-saving opportunities, thanks to Kill-a-Watt, as well as those that have yet to make a start?
“Watt the Future Holds – Funding Opportunities to Help Businesses Save Power” aims to guide businesses across the next stepping stones to greater energy efficiency – via access to funding through the Federal Government’s Renewable Energy Target (RET) scheme and Emission Reduction Fund (ERF).
The information session will explore how businesses can capitalise on what they have learned through the Kill-a-Watt campaign, in order to qualify for ERF and/or ERT project funding, as well as financing opportunities available through the Clean Air Energy Finance Corporation and other banks. A Q&A session will follow.
The ERF alone is providing $2.55 billion for eligible projects and there are a wide range of opportunities available. With falling technology costs and these kind of government incentives on offer, there has never been a better time to invest in energy efficiency and renewable energy initiatives.
