Townsville: Tropical building science workshops 24-25 October FREE
FUNDAMENTALS of TROPICAL BUILDING SCIENCE
Sponsored by QUT and supported by Townsville City Council.
Many recent changes to the ways buildings are built can increase risk. Only through the application of solid building science can we best avoid problems and maximise benefits. Designers, architects and builders can come to a workshop that tackles some of the more complicated matters of building construction through the basics of building science.

How do we create buildings that both saves energy and protects health? •Why, where and when does condensation from? •What level of sealing is good for health? •When can sealing result in mould? •When is mechanical ventilation required? •How can I make it work better? •How does climate guide best practice?
At these hands-on workshops, you’ll see and get to use the tools of building science yourself: infrared, blower door air tightness and more!
