What we do
Thirkell are professional structural and civil engineering and building design consultants.
We are based in Cairns and service the tropical region of Queensland, Papua New Guinea and the South Pacific. We work in partnerships where our skills add value to larger projects.
As professional engineers and building designers, we add value by selecting materials and design processes that save you money and combines building resilience. The whole design and engineering process are carried out ‘in house’ and can extend from ideas and schemes to construction documents, development and building approval, project management, and certifications.

We service projects with construction values up to $5M and by agreement with our Insurance provider can increase this amount to $20M project by project. Public Liability Insurance is $20M and additional business insurance guarantees performance.
